This course will provide practitioners with the specialized knowledge and unique evidence based clinical tools to insure sensitive and appropriate care in a variety of settings to patients of any age. All aspects of the dying process from physical, psychosocial and spiritual perspectives will be explored using the most comprehensive care models, with opportunities for individual and small group reflection. Organizational, cultural and ethical issues will also be addressed. A panel of expert clinicians will review clinical cases, professional development and opportunities for personal growth from the ultimate life experience.

Oncology Clinical Education Opportunities

The Oncology Section is interested in developing a list of facilities in all settings (acute care, outpatient and rehabilitation) that would be willing to offer clinical affiliations for students who are interested in oncology. The Oncology Section will share this list with academic institutions upon request,. It will be the responsibility of the academic institution to contact the facility and to develop the clinical affiliation. Placing your facility’s name on the list of potential affiliation sites in no way obligates you to provide a clinical affiliation for a particular academic institution.

This is a great opportunity for the members of the Section to help spread the word about oncology rehabilitation and to educate future members of the Section. If you are interested in participating, please send the following information to oncology@apta.org: name of facility, contact person, address, phone number, email address, type of facility, and patient population(s).

Thank you in advance for your willingness to share your knowledge and experience. Questions? Contact Maggie Rinehart-Ayres at margaret.ayres@jefferson.edu.
